Unknown Devices Rip Off Summary
Some people are saying that the several pages I have writen on the Huntersoft, Unknown Devices, Unknown Device Identifer issues are quite long and they are right. I have documented lots of details and my proof on what happened. But if just want to get to the meat of the issue here is a quick summary with links
- I wrote Unknown Devices (UDK).
- Huntersoft wrote Unknown Device Identifier (UDI).
- Halfdone and Halfdone Development is make up of only myself, Michael Moniz.
- Zhang Duo aka Jacques Dubois work for or more likely make up Huntersoft.
- Huntersoft's program UDI was a direct rip off of my software UKD.
- His first version 1.60 is a exactly like mine except he took my name and put his.
- Huntersoft has since made small changes to help hide the fact and added some other features.
- Both my program and his program has the same programming bug
- His Version 3.01 is a trojan and is possible for it to delete system files so windows so will not boot. It is detected by several different AntiVirus/Trojan software.
- Current verison 4.00 still has the trojan but just reboots the system now.
- Huntersoft has has done this before.
- Huntersoft has threatened many people with suits and hacking. Including Jerald Rawdon (WinDriversBackup), Susan Bugher and other alt.comp.freeware users and Michael Lee (Driver Magician).
- Huntersoft has lots several online store accounts due to these issues including Share*It and Kagi.
- Huntersoft has made lots of weird claims like that my Windows only program was a linux GPL program, or that I was in jail for ten years.
- CPCW magazine in China wrote also the issues but does a bad job.
- Huntersoft has released a shareware program with my program's functionality
- Qwerks is still selling this software. I have filed several complaints without luck so far.
If you wish to start from the beginning it would be best to start with this SOTW: Unknown Device Identifier Ripoff.
